D.J. Fluker, a former Alabama offensive lineman, has returned to the NFL after a year away from the league. The Las Vegas Raiders announced on Tuesday that they have signed Fluker to a practice squad contract.

Fluker had a successful college career, winning three national championships with Alabama before being selected in the first round of the 2013 NFL Draft by the San Diego Chargers. He spent four seasons with the Chargers before being released. He then played for the New York Giants and the Seattle Seahawks before being released in 2020.

After spending time on the practice squads of the Baltimore Ravens and the Miami Dolphins, Fluker was suspended for the first six games of the 2021 season. He later signed with the Raiders and then the Jacksonville Jaguars’ practice squad before returning to the Raiders this week.

The Raiders currently have a record of 5-8 and are in fourth place in the AFC West. The team also announced the signing of T Brandon Parker to the active roster and placing Kana’i Mauga on the Reserve/Injured list in a corresponding move.
