The UAH Chargers men’s basketball team secured a victory against Auburn Montgomery in a Gulf South Conference game with a final score of 84-75. The win takes UAH to a record of 4-2 (2-0 GSC), while AUM drops to 2-3 (0-2 GSC).
Junior Luke Burnett was the standout player of the game, scoring 25 points in 33 minutes. Dane Harding contributed to the win with eight assists over 22 minutes, leading the GSC this season with a total of 37 assists.
Tommy Murr also played a key role in the victory, scoring 16 points and adding five rebounds and two assists. Jack Kostel contributed 12 points, four steals, three assists, and three rebounds.
The Chargers outrebounded the Warhawks 35-27, with Matt Thurman grabbing eight boards and Daniel Saylor securing six rebounds.
UAH shot 46.7 percent from the field and 41.0 percent from three-point range.
The team will now play West Alabama at Kelly Court at Spragins Hall on Sunday, with tip-off scheduled for 4 p.m. The game promises to be an exciting encounter.
