Former Alabama Players Excel in Week 11 of NFL Season
The National Football League concluded Week 11 of the regular season on Monday evening, and former Alabama players made their mark on the gridiron. Here’s a look at how some of the former Crimson Tide standouts performed last week.
Two former Alabama wide receivers had standout performances in Week 11. Calvin Ridley had an impressive game for the Jacksonville Jaguars, totaling seven receptions for 103 yards and two touchdowns, as well as an 18-yard rush in their 34-14 win over the Tennessee Titans. Meanwhile, Jameson Williams contributed to the Detroit Lions’ 31-26 comeback victory over the Chicago Bears with two receptions for 44 yards and a touchdown.
Quarterback Tua Tagovailoa led the Miami Dolphins to a 20-13 win over the Las Vegas Raiders, completing 28-of-39 passes for 325 yards and two touchdowns. Running back Brian Robinson Jr. also had a solid performance, rushing for 73 yards on 17 carries and adding seven catches for 58 yards in the Washington Commanders’ matchup with the New York Giants.
On the defensive side, Jonathan Allen of the Washington Commanders registered two tackles for loss and 1.5 sacks in the team’s game against the New York Giants. Meanwhile, Xavier McKinney of the Giants had a standout performance, tallying a career-high 12 tackles, including one for loss, and adding a fumble recovery in their 31-19 victory.
Former Tide defensive backs also stood out in Week 11. Brian Branch had six tackles, three of which were for loss, as well as one pass breakup and a quarterback hurry in Detroit’s win. Rookie safety Jordan Battle registered a career-high 12 tackles for the Cincinnati Bengals in their Thursday Night Football matchup against the Baltimore Ravens.
